New Year, New Ideas

So with the advent of Escalation/Stronghold Assault, there has been a huge upheaval in the 40K Metagame, with super heavies now more commonplace, fortifications abound, and all those shiny forge world gubbinz all over the place. Like it or not now, they're here to stay. Now I've been a happy enough camper about some of these as my Ork list has gotten a revamp, so now I'm just running a full on Dred Mob, for nothing more than a laugh, and playing bigger games to boot.
But this is a new year.. And now seems to be the perfect time to start cracking out something a little different. Is this the excuse we needed to finally start giving other game systems a crack?

Progression Ever Onwards

So right now I've basically decided to have a couple of projects on the go, with the aim of a "Tale of a Gamer" of sorts attitude in mind. With these armies I'm not entirely certain what I want out of either of them or where to go with them. All I do know is I need my established characters in there at all times. So without further ado, projects!

New Toys for the Sehkenmat Dynasty - Orks vs. Necrons Battle Report

So once again today I played against my good friend Matt, this time against his Necrons. The idea behind this one was to see how I'd hold up against both a shooty army, and a player who has a lot of tournament experience with a competitive, but not overpowering Necron army, which can tear it up with the best of them!

He's able to put out a lot of firepower, AND knock out tanks quite happily with a load of Gauss weapons. Original list generally does VERY well indeed, so will be interesting to see how this one goes!

Da Pink Snicky Daemons Strike!

So today I had a chance to give my Ork list it's second run out, this time against my friend Matt's Daemons of Slaanesh. I was pretty apprehensive going in on this one, as they're faster, quicker, and all-round more skilled in combat than my Boyz. Still, it proved an opportunity to grab some pictures of the battle in order to post on here. Unfortunately didn't manage to get the full details for a battle report this time, but hopefully the pictures will tell a bit of a story.

Waaagh! Badklaw

So this is the army I'll be working on for now! It's a big change from the battlewagon-heavy list I was using, being that it's now switched to a Green Tide, so it's very much subject to change. Had it's first run-out today, and I was fairly happy with the way it performed. So I present Waaagh! Badklaw!

So... Cracking On!

Well, it's been a while since I last posted on my old blog, so figured "What the hell, let's start again!"

Since I last started posting a couple of years ago, I've been really throwing myself more and more into the Warhammer 40K tournament scene, trying to get somewhere with it. Finally at the start of this year in January, I picked up my first acolade at the 40K Throne of Skulls (Bearer of the Flame for best Sisters of Battle), followed swiftly by another one for Single Most Heroic Act in this month's tournament.
