New Year, New Ideas

So with the advent of Escalation/Stronghold Assault, there has been a huge upheaval in the 40K Metagame, with super heavies now more commonplace, fortifications abound, and all those shiny forge world gubbinz all over the place. Like it or not now, they're here to stay. Now I've been a happy enough camper about some of these as my Ork list has gotten a revamp, so now I'm just running a full on Dred Mob, for nothing more than a laugh, and playing bigger games to boot.
But this is a new year.. And now seems to be the perfect time to start cracking out something a little different. Is this the excuse we needed to finally start giving other game systems a crack?

Progression Ever Onwards

So right now I've basically decided to have a couple of projects on the go, with the aim of a "Tale of a Gamer" of sorts attitude in mind. With these armies I'm not entirely certain what I want out of either of them or where to go with them. All I do know is I need my established characters in there at all times. So without further ado, projects!

Sisters of Battle Update

As per usual, none of my things are ready for the Throne of Skulls so I decided I'm gonna take the Adepta Sororitas again, only this time with a twist as the brand new codex arrived this weekend!

So what's new, and how has my list been affected?! Well let's take a look! :).

Lords of Decay

Well it's been a bit of a roller coaster of a month, but needless to say I essentially realised that as fun as the Blood Axes are, the army I've designed is very much a glass cannon capable of smashing holes in things, but fundamentally it only won one game in the space of about 2-3 months!

So I revisited the Death Guard list I was working on a while back. A lot of it worked but the synergy was all wrong... So dropped Typhus, and hybridised it with my 5th ed list, and came up with this little beauty!

The Death Guard before conversions :).

Sum 'eavy DAKKA!!

I'll be honest, I've been a bit quiet when it's come to this blog. Just not had the time to write stuff up a lot of the time. Still, with the current situation now being that I am going to the November Throne of Skulls, I've had to crack on a bit getting the Boyz painted!

Progression has been admittedly slower than I'd like, but I have finally managed to get my Kannons painted!! :D.

With these guys done, I've already started cracking on with the grot tanks, AND now got a game against Imperial Fists on Wednesday. Gonna need all the practice I can get I think!!

The Fist of Halaak - Starting Skorne

So having been given a chance to play a bit more Warmachine/Hordes in the Forge with some of the other club members who've just started, I'm getting a bit more of a taste for it. Had some small games with my Strakhov Black Operations list (Tier 1/2 at that level), and with other friends considering giving it a proper go with Convergence of Cyriss, and Cryx, I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon with a new warband. After looking at stuff around the club/friends, the stuff I like seems to be in abundance. So I looked at Hordes instead, and Skorne caught my eye.

New Toys for the Sehkenmat Dynasty - Orks vs. Necrons Battle Report

So once again today I played against my good friend Matt, this time against his Necrons. The idea behind this one was to see how I'd hold up against both a shooty army, and a player who has a lot of tournament experience with a competitive, but not overpowering Necron army, which can tear it up with the best of them!

Sehkenmat Dynasty at Throne of Skulls May 2013

He's able to put out a lot of firepower, AND knock out tanks quite happily with a load of Gauss weapons. Original list generally does VERY well indeed, so will be interesting to see how this one goes!
